Game objectives

The brain game online is designed to support the development of new thoughts and a positive outlook based on a gamified format using tools from the field of study known as Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).

The main NLP techniques used are: modelling, reframing and anchoring. The SWISH technique is used in level 4.0. These techniques all prompt imaginative and creative thinking, which can be brain activities that are more difficult to initiate when in anxiety or negative outlook states.

Neuro-science is still discovering how specific brain states relate to moods, beliefs, thoughts and action. But it is now widely accepted that different brain waves are associated with different brain states:

Beta      12-30 Hz  -  alertness, focus, anxiety, stress

Alpha     8-12 Hz   -  relaxation and calm

Theta     4-8  Hz   -  meditation, creativity

Delta   0.5-4  Hz   -  deep sleep

The brain game online is designed to support playing short games that create Alpha and Theta brain waves for their associated benefits. When relaxed, calm and creative, finding new ideas, self-belief and confidence tend to be easier. The brain game online encourages this by guided imaginative play, suggested creative thinking and new positive thought associations. There is repetition of some games across different levels to help embed new thinking patterns.

How to play

It is recommended that the game is played when the likelihood of interruptions and distractions are at a minimum. Refrain from playing the game when your full focus is needed e.g. operating machinery, when driving, or similar.

The game has five levels, each level has at least three games to play. Please initially play the game levels in order.

One level per week is recommended

After running through the games, any game can then be replayed as needed. Please take your time with each level.

Headphones are advisable to increase privacy and to reduce the risk of interruptions.

It is essential that level 1 is played in full before progressing to the other levels.

Please do not attempt to play all the levels in one sitting.

Levels 4.0 and 5.0 include advanced games which may require more time and privacy to play.

If at any point playing a game results in a negative outlook, refrain from playing the game.

Always seek further support should you require it for any issues that arise during game-playing.
